LOT Polish Airlines looking to consolidate with another European carrier

LOT Polish Airlines CEO Sebastian Mikosz, speaking at CAPA's Airlines in Transition Conference on 25/26-Mar-2015, stated (25-Mar-2015) the carrier has been pitching other airlines to find an investor. LOT is looking to consolidate with a bigger player, to free it from both financial problems and political interference. Mr Mikosz stated there is a vicious circle of state ownership preventing an airline from failing through the use of state aid, but such capital injections are not a big enough financial instrument to put it into a healthier operating environment.
