LOT Polish Airlines: Cost reductions are state-owned carriers are inevitable

LOT Polish Airlines CEO Sebastian Moikosz, speaking at CAPA's Airlines in Transition Conference on 25/26-Mar-2015, stated (26-Mar-2015) cuts to unit costs for smaller state-owned carriers have become inevitable, "unless you want to disappear". As state owners, politicians "don't normally care about costs unless there are financial troubles". Headcount reductions are the most visible and painful, but cost cuts are necessary across the extent of the airline.
