Korean Air operating profit up 31% in 3Q2012

Korean Air revenue up 3% - financial highlights for three months ended 30-Sep-2012:

  • Sales revenue: KRW3400 billion (USD3001 million), +2.6% year-on-year;
  • Passenger: KRW2028 billion (USD1790 million), +7%;
  • Operating profit: KRW313.2 billion (USD276.4 million), +30.5%;

Korean Air stated (25-Oct-2012) the introduction of fuel-efficient aircraft led to a significant increase in passenger numbers on long-haul routes to Americas, Europe and Oceania. The carrier handled 4.7 million international passengers in 3Q2012 with a load factor of 82%.
