Kenya Airways to launch nine routes in FY2010/11

Kenya Airways, 26% owned by Air France-KLM, stated it plans to expand its operations to coincide with the emerging global recovery, which it expects to flow on to Africa and Kenya during 2010 (Reuters/capitalfm, 04-Jun-2010). The carrier plans to launch nine routes in FY2010/11, including services to Jeddah, Rome, Lome, Luanda and Juba. However, CEO Titus Naikuni commented, "we still believe Africa is where our mainstay is". The airline is also considering increasing the flight frequency on some existing routes, including Kigalia, and plans to position Accra as a West African hub.
