Jetstar to increase Singapore capacity by 46%

Jetstar confirmed (19-Aug-2009) a projected increase in its capacity from Singapore by 46%, supported by an investment of three A320 aircraft to be based in its Singapore hub. The alignment of Jetstar's Australian and Singapore operations is resulting in operating synergies of SGD20 million p/a. Jetstar's existing narrowbody fleet order comprises of 68 A320 and A321 aircraft. In the 2010 financial year, nine new A320s will be utilised and considered for new routes or further expansion. Jetstar Australia operated 37 A320 family (A320 and A321 aircraft) and six A330-200s as at 30-Jun-2009, with an existing seven A320s within the Jetstar Asia/Valuair operations based in Singapore.
