Jetstar Japan slowing down aircraft deliveries
Jetstar Japan CEO Miyuki Suzuki confirmed "deliveries would be slowed down," and "spread through the next fiscal year," as the LCC caps its fleet at 18 A320s (Aviation Wire, 12-Jun-2014). With the commencement of the LCC's second hub operation at Osaka Kansai Airport on 12-Jun-2014, Jetstar Japan plans to commence international operations during 2014/15 winter schedule, with destinations "within a four to five hour radius from Narita," according to Ms Suzuki. As previously reported, Jetstar Japan became the first Japanese LCC to open a second hub on 12-Jun-2014, with the carrier planning to base three A320 and 80 pilots, cabin crew and maintenance crew at the airport.
