Jetstar Asia: 'Singapore is a very price driven environment'
Jetstar Asia CEO Barathan Pasupathi, speaking at CAPA's Airline Fleet & Finance Summit Asia, said (02-Mar-2015) one of the clear differentiation strategies for the carrier is focusing on the customer. Mr Pasupathi noted: "You want to make sure your customer doesn't fly you once or is just interested in all the $18, $28, $38 fares… Singapore is a very price driven environment and low fares are only part of the story. You've got to engage your customers." Mr Pasupathi continued: "The way we handle service recovery is making customers appreciate us as a group… We're not getting the returns today but its a good long-term strategy to have."
