JetBlue has no plans to merge

JetBlue CEO Dave Barger stated the carrier has no plans to participate in airline merger activity and instead prefers to grow and expand on its own (AP, 29-Sep-2010). Mr Barger went on to state JetBlue's growth strategy has "proven to be the right path forward" with the carrier not be distracted from its goals.

JetBlue: "Overall, (Southwest) does not change our plans to grow organically, and to focus on growing (Boston) and the Caribbean.
