JetBlue expecting PRASM and RASM to increase up to 9% in 2Q2010

JetBlue CFO, Edward Barnes, stated the carrier expects PRASM and RASM to increase between 6% and 9% in 2Q2010 (Seeking Alpha, 28-Apr-2010). PRASM is expected to increase 3% year-on-year in Apr-2010. The carrier also expects continued cost pressures on salaries, wages and benefits for the quarter. The LCC added the transition to Sabre during 1Q2010 cost the carrier approximately USD15 million, in addition to USD8 million in lost revenue from flight load caps, fee waivers and schedule adjustments associated with the cross-over. JetBlue expects the new system to assist in enhancing ancillary revenues.
