Japan Airlines names new president: reports

Japan Airlines reportedly selected Captain Yoshiharu Ueki, current senior managing executive office, as its next president as part of its ongoing restructuring efforts. As reported by The Nikkei and Yomiuri Shimbun, Mr Ueki will take over from current president Masaru Onishi who will succeed Kazuo Inamori as chairman, with Mr Inamori to become honorary chairman (Yomiuri Shimbun/The Nikkei, 13-Jan-2012). Mr Ueki is expected to take over as president as early as Feb-2012, and will become the first former pilot to become a senior leader in the company.
