Iberia CEO announces changes to management structure

Iberia CEO Luis Gallego announced (10-May-2013) changes to the structure the carrier's management team:

  • Reduce the number of directors reporting to the CEO to nine;
  • Discontinue concept of directorates general;
  • Strengthen directorate of network development and alliances as symbol of commitment to the carrier's future development, once its cost base is restructured to ensure competitiveness;
  • Group together human resources, safety and social responsibility;

Mr Gallego said the new structure "is the organisation we need now, more accurate, efficient, with new professionals and others who assume new functions that are sure to contribute, at this stage, to successfully develop the plans established in our transformation plan, for Iberia to again be competitive and profitable."
