Hong Kong International Airport reports record pax and aircraft movements in Jul-2013

Hong Kong International Airport reported (18-Aug-2013) 5.4 million monthly passengers in Jul-2013, an increase of 7.7% year-on-year, surpassed its previous record of 5.2 million set in Aug-2012 while aircraft movements, up 7.5% to 32,120, surpassed its record set in May-2013. The airport attributed passenger growth to Hong Kong resident traffic, which increased 14% while passenger traffic to/from mainland China and Southeast Asia outperformed other key regions. Cargo traffic, which increased 1.9% to 341,000 tonnes, was driven by a 5% growth in exports, with cargo throughput to/from North America outperforming other key regions. Meanwhile, the SkyPier also set a new daily record of 11,663 passengers on 08-Aug-2013. [more - original PR]
