Hong Kong Airport pax up 9% in Aug-2010, cargo traffic up 17%

Hong Kong International Airport reported (19-Sep-2010) the following traffic highlights in Aug-2010:

• Passenger numbers: 4.7 million, +9.2% year-on-year;
• Cargo volume: 346,000 tonnes, +17.0%;
• Aircraft movements: 27,135, +14.5%.

Airport Authority Hong Kong: "In August we saw not just robust air traffic, but also strong demand for cross-boundary land and sea transport at HKIA, which both set a record monthly high … we anticipate the coming months to continue seeing growth as travel usually peaks at year-end, and in particular, during major festivals or holidays such as the Mid-Autumn Festival and the National Day Golden Week holidays," Stanley Hui, CEO.
