Hong Kong Airport pax up 4%, cargo up 7% in Jun-2014; expects 'moderate' growth in 2H2014

Hong Kong's Hong Kong International Airport passenger numbers up 4% - traffic highlights:

  • Jun-2014:
    • Passenger numbers: 5.2 million, +3.7% year-on-year;
    • Cargo volume: 361,000 tonnes, +7.3%;
    • Aircraft movements: 31,745, +3.9%;
  • 1H2014:
    • Passenger numbers: 30.8 million, +6.3%;
    • Cargo volume: 2.1 million, +6.3%;

Airport Authority Hong Kong: "Looking forward, we expect air traffic demand to increase moderately in the second half of the year, propelled by global economic recovery and robust regional growth, especially on the Mainland.
