Hawaiian Airlines to reconfigure 717 aircraft to 128-seat configuration

Hawaiian Airlines EVP-CCO Peter Ingram stated (03-Dec-2014) diversification and growth de-risk the carrier's network, with another year of moderate capacity growth expected for 2015. The carrier expects year-over-year ASM growth of 1% to 3% in 2014 and 4% to 7% in 2015. Mr Ingram noted, "With slower expansion we are pivoting to network maturity", while bolstering "global sales effort to optimise distribution." The carrier stated a project is now underway to reconfigure Boeing 717 aircraft to a "consistent, 128-seat configuration." Hawaiian Airlines also noted its Asian language sites were deployed in Aug-2014, with plans to launch the full site in 2015. Mr Ingram said slower growth provides the opportunity to focus on maturing its strengthened network, with a focus on margin-accretive revenue initiatives. [more - original PR]
