Hawaiian Airlines CEO says carrier has to sell itself on product in lieu of density of network

Hawaiian Airlines president & CEO Mark Dunkerley, speaking on CAPA TV, said (07-Aug-2014) the lessons learnt from the airline's expansion to Sydney in 2004 helped it develop a strategy for further expansion in the Asia Pacific. Mr Dunkerley said: "When you work your way into a market, particularly when you're a relatively small airline without the benefit of density of network, you have to work your way in and market your product and sell yourself for your attributes." Mr Dunkerley noted that is "quite difficult" when operating one flight a day or three flights a week and that the airline is not afraid of pulling under performing markets. [more - CAPA TV]
