Hainan Airlines forecasts double-digit traffic growth in 2014, will need USD6.3bn in funds

Hainan Airlines announced (Apr-2014) the following traffic forecast for 2014:

• Passenger numbers: 30.2 million, +15.0% year-on-year;
• Cargo volume: 362,100 tonnes, +15.7%;
• Number of flights: 213,800, +12.3%;
• Flight hours: 525,100, +15.8%.

The carrier stated it will require CNY40 billion (USD6.3 billion) in annual funds in 2014 to achieve its business objectives for the year, adding it will raise funds through a variety of channels such as medium- to long-term financing bills and bank credits.
