HACTL reports 39% rise in Dec-2009 cargo volume

Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Ltd (HACTL) reports (08-Jan-2010) the following traffic highlights:

  • Dec-2009:
    • Cargo volume: 232,476 tonnes, +38.5% year-on-year;
      • Export: 126,761 tonnes, +43.7%;
      • Import: 65,386 tonnes, +46%;
      • Trans-shipment: 40,329 tonnes, +15.8%;
  • 2009:
    • Cargo volume: 2.3 million tonnes, -8.3 year-on-year;
      • Export: 1.2 million tonnes, -11.6%;
      • Import: 624,714 tonnes, -3.1%;
      • Trans-shipment: 465,880 tonnes, -5.8%.

HACTL: "2009 has been a year full of ups and downs. While we came across difficult moments in the first six months, the global economy has delightfully stabilised from the third quarter and has picked up faster than expected…We do not have a crystal ball to predict the market condition, but we are expecting a more stable year in 2010," Ms Lilian Chan, General Manager, Marketing and Customer Service.
