Gulf airlines could enter Saudi domestic market
Saudi Arabia's Shoura Council recommended a study allowing some Gulf airline carriers to operate within Saudi Arabia as Saudi Arabian Airlines struggles to meet demand, council spokesman Mohammed Almohanna said (Reuters, 05-Apr-2011). The Shoura Council urged the civil aviation body to carry out the study. At present, Saudi Airlines and National Air Services serve a domestic market of around 27 million people.
