Garuda Indonesia to resume services to Europe in 2010

Garuda Indonesia confirmed plans resume services to Europe in 2010, as part of its five-year growth strategy, including plans to resume Jakarta-Amsterdam via Dubai service in Jun-2010 (AAP, 21-Dec-2009). The carrier will initially deploy A320-200 aircraft on the Amsterdam route, but plans to take delivery of ten B777-300ERs from 2010 to allow the introduction of non-stop services to Europe. Other destinations under consideration include Frankfurt, Paris and London. The carrier plans to increase international operations by 300% by 2014.

Garuda Indonesia: "We have set an aggressive five-year growth strategy for the airline that will allow Garuda to take its place alongside other leading international airlines in the Asia Pacific region. Establishing a strong presence in Europe is an important element of meeting these targets," Emirsyah Satar, CEO. Source: AAP, 21-Dec-2009.
