Garuda eyes investment in Mandala

Garuda Indonesia is reportedly looking at investing in, or acquiring, Mandala Airlines which ceased operations recently but also faces increased competition from new start-up PT Sky Aviation. PT Sky plans to expand its charter services to scheduled services with three Fokker 50 aircraft in 1Q2011 to serve regional networks and destinations within Sumatra (Alternative Airlines, 19-Jan-2011).
