French ATC strike to affect services from French airports

French Civil Aviation Authority stated an air traffic controllers strike would result in the cancelation of 25% of services to/from Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport on 23-Feb-2010 (Agence France-Presse/Bloomberg, 22-Feb-2010). Approximately half the services from Orly Airport may also be cancelled (AFP, 22-Feb-2010). The air traffic controllers have called a five-day strike to protest plans to merge the service with those in neighbouring countries. Air France-KLM Group stated the strike would affect 25% of short and medium haul services from Paris Charles de Gaulle over the next two days, while short and medium haul services from Orly Airport would be reduced by half (Bloomberg, 22-Feb-2010). The company plans to operate its long-haul services as scheduled. The strike is expected to run through 26-Feb-2010. [more]
