Fraport and airlines reach agreement on charges

Fraport reached (19-Feb-2010) an agreement with airlines on airport charges at Frankfurt Airport for the period 2012-2015, which will see charges increase 2.9% annually over the period. Fraport is currently investing about EUR1 billion annually in the modernization and expansion of Frankfurt's airside facilities. [more]

Fraport: "The increase in airport charges is an essential element for financing the immense capital expenditures for FRA's future viability and competitiveness. With the charges agreed for 2010 and 2011 we have already taken into account the difficult economic situation currently facing the airlines, by staggering the increase well into 2010," Dr. Stefan Schulte, Executive Board Chairman.
