European Union carbon allowance prices hit record ahead of ETS decision

European Union carbon allowances prices for Dec-2010 on the ICE Futures Europe rose 2.4% to EUR15.82, the highest level since 14-Oct-2010 (Bloomberg, 06-Mar-2011). The European Commission is due to announce the cap for airlines emissions on 07-Mar-2011. Airlines are due to be included in the EU Emissions Trading Scheme from 2012.
