Estonian Government expresses interest in a potential takeover of SAS’s holding in Estonian Air

Estonian Government has expressed interest in a potential takeover of SAS's holding in Estonian Air with a meeting between the two parties scheduled to take place this week (The Local, 08-Jan-2010). SAS currently holds a 49% stake in Estonian Air, with the Estonian State owning 34% and the remaining 17% belonging to Estonian investment company, Cresco. SAS is reportedly requesting EUR12.8 million for its stake (Postimees, 07-Jan-2010).

Estonian Government: "We would like to buy up SAS's share at the lowest price possible but we do not exclude the possibility that both Estonia and SAS will remain among the company's owners," Kalev Vapper, Economics Ministry spokesman. Source: The Local, 08-Jan-2010.
