Estonian Air receives EUR8.3m loan from Estonian Government

Estonian Air received an EUR8.3 million loan from the Estonian Government in order to ensure services to destinations "essential to the national interest" continue, according to ERR News, E24.ee and YLE. The Government also decided the Estonian Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communication must submit a request to the European Commission for additional state funding by 01-Jan-2013. The Ministry will present its plan to restructure the airline on 28-Feb-2013. In Nov-2012 the airline laid off 146 of its 318 employees.
