Embraer to double number of aircraft in the Middle East in four years

Embraer stated it could double the number of aircraft in the Middle East and is "actively chasing" six new customers in the region, including Oman Air (Aviation Week, 05-Nov-2009). The manufacturer could announce a new order from a carrier in the region by the end of Nov-2009. Embraer will decide in 1H2010 whether to establish a spare parts depot in the region to serve the four Middle East carriers - Royal Jordanian, Egyptair, Saudi Arabian Airlines and Nasair - that operate Embraer aircraft.
