Ecuador to seek USD7.5bn of private investment in infrastructure

Ecuador's Government announced plans to seek USD7.5 billion of private investment in infrastructure concessions over the next five years (Bloomberg, 03-Mar-2011). Companies such as Portec and Bertolini Group are reportedly studying concessions at the port of Manta. Production Minister Nathalie Cely stated at least seven companies have shown interest in port and airport concessions. Ecuador has also reportedly applied for Manta-Tahiti-Asia route and is seeking Lufthansa services to Europe, stated Ms Cely.
