Embraer: E-Jets E2 programme on schedule, with more than 300 flight hours logged

Embraer reported (14-Dec-2016) the E-Jets E2 test programme "is progressing right on schedule, both on the ground and in the air". Key progamme highlights include:

  • Aircraft static tests started on 24-Nov-2016 on a purpose-built E-Jets E2, with the wings of an E190-E2 and the fuselage of an E195-E2;
  • A second full-scale prototype has been positioned at the Eugênio de Melo facility alongside the E2 that is used for static tests. This second aircraft, an E190-E2, is to be used for fatigue testing that will begin in 1H2017. Testing will simulate take-off, flight and landing cycles equivalent to three times the projected typical lifespan for the aircraft;
  • Three E190-E2s test aircraft are flying and have accumulated more than 300 flight hours. [more - original PR]
