Copenhagen Kastrup Airport pax up 8% in May-2014, stable growth strengthens hub strategy

Denmark's Copenhagen Kastrup Airport passenger numbers up 8% - traffic highlights for May-2014:

  • Passenger numbers: 2.3 million, +8.3% year-on-year;
    • Domestic: 179,002, +3.6%;
    • International: 2.1 million, +8.7%;
  • Aircraft movements: 22,756, +4.1%;

The airport reported (17-Jun-2014) the number of transfer passengers travelling via Copenhagen increased 20.7% to 292,145. CEO Thomas Woldbye noted: "The strong growth in both long-haul passengers and transfer passengers strengthens Denmark's and Copenhagen's position as the key international transport hub of northern Europe. It also shows that we are achieving the goals we have set for our World Class Hub strategy."
