Continental flight attendants refuse to enter negotiations with United attendants

Continental Airlines flight attendants, represented by the International Association of Machinists (IAM), refused to enter joint contract talks with United Airlines flight attendants, represented by the Association of Flight Attendants (AFA), before the two groups choose a union to jointly represent the attendants (Reuters, 06-Oct-2010). IAM stated it declined to enter early talks as it had recently negotiated a contract for its members.
