Citilink CEO outlines network and fleet growth plans

Citilink president and CEO Arif Wibowo, speaking on CAPA TV, said (13-Aug-2014) the airline is currently strengthening its domestic position as part of the overall Garuda Indonesia group strategy. Mr Arif Wibowo reported strong domestic competition, but said the suspension of services by other carriers allowed expansion on some routes. He said the airline plans to expand to regional markets in the near future, potentially including Australia. The carrier would initially operate from Bali before commencing Jakarta-Australia routes and is considering Perth as a possible destination. After expanding its fleet from nine to 26 aircraft in the last two years, the airline expects to take delivery of another six aircraft by the end of 2014. [more - CAPA TV]
