China's aviation profit up 27% in 1H2011

CAAC reported China's civil aviation reported a 27% year-on-year increase in profit to CNY18.3 billion (USD2.8 billion) in the first six months of 2011 (Yicai, 24-Jul-2011). Details include:

  • Revenue: CNY228.3 billion (USD35.1 billion), +22.5% year-on-year;
  • Profit: CNY18.3 billion (USD2.8 billion), +27.3%;
    • Airlines: CNY12.8 billion (USD2.0 billion), +26%;
  • Passenger numbers: 139 million, +9.8%;
  • Cargo volume: 2.7 million tonnes, -0.4%;
  • 2011 forecast:
    • Passenger numbers: 300 million, +13%;
