China's aviation industry reports soaring profits in Mar-2010: CAAC

CAAC reported (20-Apr-2010) the following financial/traffic highlights in Mar-2010:

• Industry wide profit: CNY3,830 million, +142% year-on-year;
  • Airlines: USD2,720 million, +112.7%;
  • Airport: CNY870 million, +352.7%;
  • Other: USD240 million, +117%;
• Passenger numbers: 21.7 million, +20.3%;
• Domestic: 20.2 million, +19.5%;
• Hong Kong, Macau & Taiwan: 490,406, +17.5%;
• International: 1.5 million, +31.9%;
• Cargo volume: 479,626 tonnes, +39.7%;
• Domestic: 313,049 tonnes, +23.8%;
• Hong Kong, Macau & Taiwan: 19,080 tonnes, +70.6%;
• International: 166,576 tonnes, +84.2%.
