China Airlines returns to profitability in year to Aug-2010

China Airlines expects net profit for the first eight months of 2010 to exceed USD316 million, a return to profit compared to a loss of USD158 million in the first nine months of 2009 (Reuters, 14-Sep-2010). China Airlines reported a profit of USD199.1 million in 1H2010. The carrier attributed the positive result to the global economic recovery and the opening of direct scheduled flights between Taiwan and mainland China.
