CFM International: LEAP-1B engine for 737 MAX on schedule

CFM International reported (23-Apr-2014) that development of the LEAP-1B engine for the Boeing 737 MAX is on schedule, with testing on track to begin in Jun-2014. The 737 MAX is scheduled to enter service in 2017. CFM International and Boeing have a 40-year partnership, with the CFM56-7B being selected as the sole engine to power the 737NG aircraft.
