CAPA: Low fuel prices affecting almost all aspects of airline operations

CAPA executive chairman Peter Harbison, speaking at the CAPA Asia Aviation Summit, said (15-Nov-2016) low fuel prices are impacting almost every aspect of airline operations and there is no real expectation that prices will rise in the near future. Mr Harbison said low fuel costs are resulting in lower airfares, which keep traffic strong but may create expectations that fares will remain low. Mr Harbison added salary pressures may also result in higher airline cost bases.
