Canada will not implement more aggressive airport pat-downs

Canada's Transport Minister Chuck Strahl stated the Canadian Air Transport Security Authority will not implement more aggressive pat-down searches, saying that air travellers should be treated with "respect" (Bloomberg/Postmedia News, 24/25-Nov-2010). Transport Canada has ordered the Canadian Air Transport Security Authority to set up the booths for private pat-downs, which are used in Canada if passengers opt out of full-body scans as part of secondary screening.
