Camair Co starts operations

Camair Co (Cameroon Airlines Corporation), Cameroon's new national flag carrier, launched (28-Mar-2011) its inaugural service to Paris on 28-Mar-2011. The overall preparation of the start-up process was managed with the help of Lufthansa Consulting. The Government of Cameroon commissioned Lufthansa Consulting to advise the country on the establishment of the new airline in 2009. Camair-Co plans to serve both domestic and international destinations under the airline code QC. From Douala there will be scheduled flights to Maroua and Garoua in Cameroon. The international flight programme will include Paris from Yaoundé and N'Djamena (Chad). The carrier will start operations with a B767-300ER, which has a seat capacity of 210, and a B737-700 with 128 seats. Camair-Co currently has 330 members of staff and is scheduled to employ up to 450 in the future. [more]
