British Airways sees Iberia merger, American partnership as key to competitiveness

British Airways CEO, Willie Walsh, stated the carrier's merger with Iberia and its partnership with American Airlines will anchor its competitiveness in the global aviation industry (monitor.co.ug, 19-Jul-2010). Mr Walsh stated the airlines will enhance cost efficiencies on some long-haul routes, with the merger and collaboration to enable the carrier to be more competitive in the current environment.
