Boeing commences construction of 1500th aircraft in 747 programme

Boeing Commercial Airplanes VP market Randy Tinseth, on his 'Randy's Journal' Blog, stated (11-Nov-2013) the 747 programme has kicked off production of its 1500th aircraft. The milestone airplane, a 747-8 Intercontinental, is scheduled to roll out of the factory in 2Q2014 for delivery to Lufthansa. The 747 has been manufactured in Boeing's Everett factory since the first programme employees arrived in 1967. [more - original PR]
