Boeing aircraft, innovation and technology highlighted at Farnborough International Airshow
Boeing announced (12-Jul-2012) it received orders and commitments for 396 aircraft, with a list value of more than USD37 billion, at this week's Farnborough International Airshow. The number of Boeing net orders for 2012 currently stands at 691, and the 737 MAX has accumulated 649 orders to date. Order highlights (since 05-Jul-2012) include:
- Virgin Australia: Order for 23 737 MAX
- Air Lease Corporation: Orders for 60 737 MAX 8 and 15 737 MAX 9. List value of USD7.2 billion;
- GE Capital Aviation Services: Commitments for 75 737 MAX 8 and 25 737-800s. List value of USD9.2 billion;
- ALAFCO: Commitment for 20 737 MAX 8. List value of USD1.9 billion;
- Avolon: Commitment for 10 737 MAX 8, five 737 MAX 9 and 10 737-800s. List value of USD2.3 billion;
- United Airlines: Order for 100 737 MAX 9 and 50 737-900ER. List value of USD14.7 billion;
