Boeing: 737 MAX to improve range by 400-540nm over 737NG

Boeing VP and general manager 737 program Beverly Wyse said (10-Jul-2012) the manufacturer is making steady progress toward development goals on the 737 MAX and confirmed the aircraft is on track to enter service in 2017. Boeing has firmed up maximum take-off weight projections and expects the 737 MAX models will have the capability to fly more than 3500nm, an increase of 400-540nm compared to the 737NG. Boeing estimates an 8% per-seat operating cost advantage for the 737 MAX 8 over the A320 neo.
