BEA unable to determine crash of AF 447

BEA, the French accident investigation bureau, stated it has been unable to determine the causes and circumstances of the fatal crash of Air France flight AF 447 off the coast of Brazil on 01-Jun-2009 (Reuters, 13-Dec-2009). BEA is expected to make at least three recommendations on general aircraft safety, addressing pitot probes (air speed sensors), tripling the life of locator beacons from 30 to 90 days and changing their locations.
