Barco defence/aerospace bookings decline 1.1% in 3Q2014, 7.4% over first nine months of 2014

Barco reported (22-Oct-2014) its order book as of 30-Sep-2014 was EUR488.9 million, up EUR25.5 million (+4.3%) compared to the end of 3Q2013. Incoming orders booked during 3Q2014 were EUR247.6 million, a decrease of 14.1% year-on-year. Barco president and CEO Eric Van Zele said that although Barco's order book continued to grow, incoming orders for the company's 'Defense & Aerospace' and 'LiveDots' units were lower than anticipated, while shipments were roughly in line with expectations. During 3Q2014, Barco completed the divestiture of Orthogon and signed an agreement with Esterline to sell its Defence & Aerospace business. Mr Van Zele said Darco is "confident about delivering results for 2H14 that are comparable to 2H13, excluding any one time gains from divestitures." [more - original PR]
