BAA commences search for bankers for possible London Stansted sale: reports

BAA has reportedly commenced the search for bankers for a possible sale of London Stansted Airport in 2012 for more than GBP1 billion (The Sunday Telegraph/Marketwatch/Dow Jones, 04-Sep-2011). In Jul-2011, the Competition Commission maintained its original decision to break up BAA, which is owned by Ferrovial, demanding it start the process of selling London Stansted Airport within three months, followed by the sale of either Edinburgh Airport or Glasgow Airport. BAA has until 19-Sep-2011 to lodge an appeal to the sales demand and will make that decision in the next two weeks.
