AWAS upgrades order for two A350s to larger A350-900s

AWAS announced (02-Oct-2014) a decision made in Sept-2014 to convert its positions for two Airbus A350-800s to two of the larger A350-900 models. AWAS was an initial launch customer for the programme, and one of the first lessors to place an order for aircraft and will receive both aircraft from the firm order in 2017. AWAS president & CEO Ray Sisson commented: "Our conversion to larger A350-900 model reflects our overall confidence and the strong development of the programme to date." Airbus COO, customers, John Leahy, said the decision by AWAS "underlines the trend we are seeing across all market segments favouring larger aircraft models in all size categories".
