AAPA int’l pax up 10% to 26.2m in Jul-2016, cargo traffic up 4%

Association of Asia Pacific Airlines (AAPA) reported (29-Aug-2016) the following international traffic highlights for its member airlines in Jul-2016:

  • Passenger numbers: 26.2 million, +10.2% year-on-year;
  • Passenger traffic: +8.4%;
  • Capacity (ASKs): +7.3%;
  • Passenger load factor: 81.8%, +0.8 ppt;
  • Cargo traffic (FTKs): +3.9%;

AAPA: "The overall demand outlook for air passenger markets remains positive, as air travellers in the region continue to enjoy the benefits of affordable fares, although demand for some European destinations has been affected by security concerns. Given highly competitive market conditions, Asia Pacific airlines are focusing on carefully managing costs, whilst continuing to deliver high levels of customer service."
