Asia has been anything but a distraction: Jetstar Group CEO

Jetstar Group CEO Jayne Hrdlicka, speaking at the CAPA Australia Pacific Aviation Summit, said (08-Aug-2014) Asia is "anything but a distraction, Asia is an absolutely vital part of our future." Ms Hrdlicka said the group's growth in Asia has been rapid, strategic and achieved with relatively low capital but noted: "Each airline is in control of its own destiny and its own leadership team." Ms Hrdlicka said each airline is responsible for its commercial activities, operations and cash flow but noted: "Like any investor, we expect return. We also understand we are investors in Asia and that success is a long-term proposition."
