Around 75 million passengers paid the German air traffic levy in 2011

Germany's Statistische Bundesamt (Destatis) stated (17-Apr-2012) around 75 million airline passengers paid the air traffic levy in 2011, generating around EUR960 million in revenue for the government. The Federal Statistics Office stated in around 85% of cases, the lowest tax level was paid at EUR8, providing EUR505 million income. 12% of passengers paid the long-haul sector charge of EUR45, for total revenue of nearly EUR388 million.
